Cindy Roe joined the Reynolds Journalism Institute in February 2007. She brings 30 years of experience in the business environment. She has been the head of small to mid-sized companies’ accounting departments for more than 20 years, and her accounting experience ranges from profit to nonprofit organizations. She most recently worked for three years as a real estate agent in Raleigh, N.C. before moving back to Missouri to be near family.
Roe has a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Winthrop University in South Carolina, where she graduated magna cum laude.
Roe’s duties include being the financial liaison between the Reynolds Journalism Institute and the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation located in Las Vegas, Nev. This includes reports to the foundation regarding the annual budget, actual expenditure reports, progress reports and budget justification reports. She also handles other financial duties and assists with logistics of many of RJI's projects, including the new building’s furnishings. She is currently also the fiscal person for the Washington, D.C.-based Committee of Concerned Journalists.
